JTransit Runtime
The JTransit Runtime library is a Java Archive file (JAR file) that contains code necessary to handle the interpretation of Tango and ColdFusion tags, link to custom tag code from these proprietary environments, and to handle dynamic tag resolution at runtime (where used). Further, this runtime library is used during testing. The runtime library is licensed to you on a per CPU license for each deployment. A web server cluster of 3 dual CPU machines would require 6 runtime licenses to fully leverage the cluster's performance characteristics.
JTransit Compiler
The JTransit Compiler converts ColdFusion CFML files and Tango 2000 TAF, TCF and TML files to Java source code. The compiler license is sold as a single developer license, one license per developer is necessary.
The compiler is an optional component for those not using custom tags, TAF, or TCF files (just CFML, TML, and Velocity files). JTransit does not compile files on the fly in the runtime environment but can "interpret" meta-language-only files such as "include" or "template" files that have not been compiled into the application (note that we recommend compiling all template files, but this is not always practical for business reasons with some apps). To avoid these delays during execution of your web site, you can pre-compile all files into JAR files for standard deployment to J2EE servers. Remember, the compiler is essential if you are using custom tags, TCF, or TAF files.
What do you need?
- Either a ColdFusion or Tango 2000 web application's source code files (CFML, TAF, TCF, TML)
- The JTransit Starter Package that includes the necessary compiler (to compile your application into Java source files) and the first CPU license of our JTransit runtime library necessary for deployment. The Starter Package includes many other components that will save days of work in development and deployment of your solutions.
- A support package gives you full support and maintenance coverage for 12 months following your purchase (we only provide 30 day installation support with the purchase of the product).
- JDK 1.3 or later from Sun so that you can compile the Java output from our compiler into executable Java code;
- Orion, Tomcat, JRun, WebSphere, WebLogic or any other J2EE compliant server for deployment (our download comes preconfigured for evaluation with Orion?s server).
