JTransit RuntimeTM Features

The most important new feature in v2 is the ability to work with ColdFusion® web applications. For a complete list of the features and benefits of using JTransit see the Compiler & Runtime Library product page. Here are some additional features added in v2...
JTransit Search
Text search engine that can index database queries, documents stored on disk (like spidered HTML documents such as those created by JTransit RedLine), or any custom plain-text data for quick relevance-ranked on-line searching. Fully integrated into the JTransit tag language and can be used in any template. Syntax-compatible with ColdFusion's Verity search tags. This is a simple replacement to Verity's search engine technology for those customers not able to afford the capabilities of Verity's search technology.

JTransit tag support
Enhancements to the JTransit tag support bring the total up to 176 supported dynamic tags (compare to ColdFusion's 79) and 211 functions.

Tag enhancements
Expanded tag attributes and functionality for many of the most commonly-used meta tags.

Performance enhancements
JTransit v2 sees performance gains in the neighborhood of 2x over that of JTransit v1, depending on the tags you use. We can also help you tune your JVM to get the most out of your application server. See our professional services offering for more details about performance tuning services.

JTransit FrontLineTM

Easily and automatically install and update server software. Automatically update software from JTransit, third parties, as well as your own generated .jar files and classes. Saves hours of tedious installation and configuration work, and helps to avoid many common mistakes. Use FrontLine to keep your clients' servers up-to-date as well. Optionally join the network of peer-to-peer FrontLine servers to monitor your site (or any web app) and perform actions like logging and email as desired based on statistics from other JTransit FrontLine peers.

As if that isn't enough, FrontLine also incorporates fully-scriptable "protocol servers" that understand Tango, ColdFusion, and Velocity scripts, and communicate with the outside world using SMTP, POP3, and FTP (other protocols coming soon). You can quickly create a fully-dynamic presence using these protocols just as you are used to doing with HTTP over the web. Imagine creating a mail-based site just as you would do for your web site, to provide clients with dynamic, database-driven email reports, free email accounts for all users in your database, database mailing lists and discussion groups, or any other purpose you can dream up. Use FTP to allow your customers to upload and download files directly into your database and even create and manipulate folder structures with any FTP client they choose. Other protocols are planned for future releases including NNTP, telnet, and possibly IMAP, LDAP, SSH/SCP, SNMP, and HTTP (let us know if we missed any you need!). Take control of your COMPLETE internet presence.

JTransit RedLineTM

Powerful, scriptable (and easy to use) client that can perform automated diagnostic testing of any web application, as well as load testing. JTransit RedLine also includes full-featured spider functionality for crawling through web pages, including downloading images. This allows your testing to more closely imitate real-world browsers by including image and frameset download times in the statistics, and can be used to generate a "static site" for full text search or off-line use (ie, to burn a CD).

JTransit ITETM (Early Access)

We call it the ITE because it's truly an Information Technology Environment, not just for development. The only features enabled in the initial release of v2 are the graphical runtime configurator and compiler. We will enable more of the ITE as we get feedback from our awesome beta testers. The command-line tools access will continue to be available for those using this interface as part of a larger build process.
